I loved this app, but it doesnt seem to work with iOS 8. At least the voice recording feature seems broken. Its overall a good idea, app works great when it works, but there has to be something else on the market...

Its ironic that an app for actors is the most expensive app Ive ever bought, but I was happy to shell out the dough after a friend raved about it. Only after installing the app (on iOS 8), and encountering numerous glitches, did I see it hasnt been updated in nearly two years. Basic features we now take for granted are missing. I was very disappointed to find that scripts dont sync between devices. If I close the app and re-open it, the script goes back to page one. The same is true if I dont close the app. If I respond to an incoming email or text, and then switch back to Rehearsal, it goes back to page one. Every time I return to the app and tap the script I was working on, it starts beeping and goes into record mode, and I have to click back several times, then tap the script again, only for it to take me to page one. I was really looking forward to using this app, and I think an update will renew my excitement, but I cant recommend it until then.

This app crashes every time I try to open a new script. The most expensive app Ive ever bought, and the most worthless!

This is hands down the best app Ive encountered for learning lines! Figuring out how to upload scripts & record, etc took only a few min w the simple interface. The loop feature is a blessing - esp as someone who was using iPhone voice memos to rehearse. The scrolling feature is great too. I feel like this has cut my memorization time in half! Dont be discouraged but the price - its worth it!

Useful tool, but there are too many bugs that make using the app a frustrating. Every time I launch a scene the record function turns on, then I have to save the recording before returning the scene. Please fix the app. An update is long overdue.

Ok its not the worst app but its not great either! Its one of the most expensive apps I have ever bought since Ive owned an iPhone! To be honest the free alternatives are better! This is also an old app and hasnt been updated at all. A huge disappointment considering other apps in this category are out there for free! Im sticking with off book for now! Its easier and free!

There are issues w this app that make it annoying to use. It needs some easy improvement. Adding my scripts straight from your phone has a bug .. You should be able to pause and forward and reverse the script as its playing back w voice over.

Hey! Soooooo...a lot of actors at Juilliard LOVES this app. However, in lieu of auditions and plays to prepare for, we love to run lines over and over. Therefore we love the voice recording app, except it NEVER saves our recording! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE UPDATE THIS! As soon as you can!

Ive used this app for a few years but am really struggling to understand how there are still so many glitches with the program. Audio open starts recording without pressing record, the program resets anytime you leave it, and crashes repeatedly. Lazy developers.

Even with a few glitches, this app has become a vital and effective tool in my arsenal.

It seemed like a great idea at first and most of the reviews looked great but when I got it, (I have the new upgrade) it wouldnt let me send any of my scripts in PDF form! I have been fooling around with it for almost 2 hours now and it will not budge! The app itself is great quality but I cant send the email. Can I have my $20 back? David, if youre reading this, please tell me how to fix it!!! I wouldnt be upset if it was a $5 dollar app but I just wasted my money!!!

This app has a few good points but the bugs & headaches outweigh them. First, it only works with PDF files, as though all scripts come to you as a PDF attachment to an email. How about if youre given a hard copy script or a doc file? So thats excess work to get it in the format Rehearsal likes. Then to actually have the app accept the script is another chore involving emailing it to Rehearsal or yourself to open the attachment via the app. But the second way still leaves it out of your Rehearsal library so more headaches going from phone to tablet. Once the script is in the app, the app does really helpful things like sporadically jump to page 1 from your present position, constantly pop into record mode or pop up the menu to add photos, videos, etc. Why? How often does one add photos in the middle of a script? And perhaps my biggest complaint is that any time the app loses focus, it exits the script. Maybe that wouldnt be so annoying if the app had bookmarks but it doesnt. Add to that the poor help feature and this app is barely useful. Definitely NOT worth the price!

Basic things. Most of these have been covered in previous reviews. A pause button in the recording portion would go a long way. I have page one and two totally memorized. Page six though? Well, if I could pause and get to the end of the scene it would super duper help. Buy: If youre desperate. If your scripts are generally in pdf form. If you dont have any other options.

Importing my script was more trouble than it was worth since the only pdf I had was scanned in landscape and I wasnt able to rotate it. I ended up just using the voice memo on my phone and my hard copy script covered with a piece of paper.

What happened to the pause feature on audio playback?? That is crucial and it just disappeared, which is weird bc there hasnt been an update in FOREVER. please fix. Thanks!

NOT happy! Tried to register and its not happening. Theres no obvious email for contact. If I get it to go, Ill change this rating!

Just about every working actor I know, myself included, lives by this app. Could use a few "tweaks" but, with that being said, its an absolute necessity in this industry and I say well worth the money; especially if you audition frequently!

The app hasnt had an update in a long time. It crashed a lot on ios8. Now it barely runs on ios9. And when youre in a scene and pause playback, it triggers iTunes to start playing a song. It was a cool app that just doesnt work any more.

So far so good, but I agree it needs some kind of playback slider so that once you record audio from a scene, you can pause and restart or scrub back to a certain point. Instead of it simply starting over on you each time. Its been forever since an update was made, hopefully theyll come up with something soon.
